Scar Camouflage is a cosmetic procedure where inkless serum or colored pigment can be used to help improve the appearance of a scar.

We understand each scar comes with history and not all history is wanted as a daily reminder of what you have been through. With this combination most clients often see 60-70+% improvement after just one session.

Anytime AFTER a scar has healed, meaning:

They are white in color
-
They are NOT pink, or purplish in color
-
The scar is NOT a Keloid, keloid scars can not be worked on and are best left alone.

If your scar is over 1 year old but still not “white” indicating healing is still occurring please reach out and some options to help speed that process along can be offered.
Scar Treatments are typically suitable for anyone except the following:

Inkless is a treatment utilizing a microneedling technique while applying a serum to expedite healing. This can address texture and tone of the scar before moving forward with next steps.
Camouflage is where the scar is tattooed to match surrounding' skin tones.
Depending on the area being worked and scar itself will depend on the level of sensitivity. Some scars have no feeling left in them. A topical numbing agent can be applied if needed.
What to Expect?
-
Avoid laser, IPL, peels and
microdermabrasion for four weeks prior. -
Avoid direct sun exposure for two weeks prior, and be sure to wear SPF daily.

Don't scrub or exfoliate your skin in the days before your treatment.
-
Wear loose fitting clothing if clothing covers the area being worked on.
Day 1-4
-
Redness, swelling, tightness, feeling of being sunburnt
-
Avoid all things hot: sauna, hot tub, sweating etc.
-
You can shower 12 hrs after procedure
-
Apply aftercare 2 x day
Day 5 to 5 weeks
-
Area will become dry, flakey and possibly a small amount of scabbing (do not pick)

Apply silicone aftercare 2 x day
-
No advil/ibuprofen for at least 24 hours following the procedure
-
Avoid direct sun exposure for 10 days afterwards and wear sunscreen daily,
despite not being in the sun. -
Avoid strenuous exercise for 48 hours. We also suggest you steer clear of saunas, steam rooms and hot showers.

Don't pick or pull at any loose, flaky skin (we. know it's tempting!)
-
Avoid active ingredients like Retinol and Hydroxy Acids for five days.

Don't manually exfoliate or scrub for five days post-treatment.
Aftercare will vary depending on the type of scar, location, and treatment done.
DO NOT PICK OR DISTURB THE CAMOUFLAGE / PIGMENTED AREA. It is important that IF there is any protective scabs that they stay on during the healing process.
Use a thin layer of provided ointment 2 - 3x per day for the first 5 days. Always apply ointment before bathing or showering.
No soap, shampoo, cleansers, or cosmetics on the pigmentation site for the first 5 days. No sauna’s, steam rooms and baths, hot yoga, or anything that causes excessive sweating for at least 5 days. No swimming in chlorinated pools for 2 weeks. No direct sun or sun tanning beds for 6 weeks.
25% - 40% of the pigment may fade off during the first several weeks of healing. Area may appear to be healed, but camouflage can take 2 - 10 months to heal (longer if skin is darker). If you are unsure of healing status, please text pictures to avoid booking unnecessary appointments. *DO NOT throw out your aftercare as you will need it again after your touch up*
If you have a Tegaderm bandage on the area you can safely leave this bandage on for up to a week. No water activities wearing Tegaderm bandages
When using silicone a deep massage of the product is the most beneficial.Start the massaging of this product after the 5-7 day mark. Use in the morning and night until product is empty.
Excessive swelling – Although rare, excessive swelling or allergic reaction may occur. If excessive swelling occurs, you should consult your doctor. If any allergic reaction causes difficulty breathing and/or swelling, call 911 or go to the Emergency room immediately
Once healed, use SPF products on the treated area(s), it will prevent color from fading'.
Be careful when having peels, microdermabrasion, laser, or using anti aging creams on camouflage as these may contribute to fading
Healing on AVERAGE is 2-6 weeks, BUT the healing process will be however long it takes YOU to heal. Each person heals differently. With that being said, it is possible for you to finish before the initial 2 weeks BUT another session cannot be done before 6 weeks has passed.
After your appointment, please keep the area away from friction- wear loose clothes
First 48hrs: Cleanse area 3x/day: CLEAN HANDS: SOAP - RINSE- DAB DRY- MASSAGE CREAM I
Day 3-7.: CLEAN HANDS: SOAP - RINSE- DAB DRY- MASSAGE CREAM IN (morning & night)
Day 8 till ointment is gone or area is done flaking- MASSAGE CREAM IN (morning & night)
Be sure to have clean linen on bedding after your appointment. Avoid any fragrance, tanning, swimming,
saunas, tight clothes- ONLY while in the initial 10 days
DURING INITIAL HEALING (10-14 days +/-):
-
No sweating. No strenuous workouts, and do your best to stay cool/not get overheated in general.

No direct sunlight or tanning beds. If you are going to be out in the sun, wear SPF after healing process is finished.

No sauna, hot tub, pool, or ocean. You cannot be around the steam from a sauna or hot tub, and you cannot swim in the pool or ocean. If you are going to be pool or oceanside

No picking or scratching. If you experience any flaking during the healing process, do not pick the flakes at all; let them come off on their own. If itching occurs during the healing process, you can tap or pat the area with clean hands; do not scratch them.
